The United Arab Emirates (UAE) banned yesterday the importation of wild live birds from Saudi Arabia next reports of a bird influenza outbreak in the Kingdom. According to the ministry, the ban involved "all kinds of domestic & wild live birds, ornamental birds, chicks, hatching eggs & non-heat-treated waste."The UAE decision too involved protecting the importation of the poultry flesh, non-heat-treated products & table eggs from the influenced ambit in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia approves bird influenza outbreak

as declared in Reuters Sunday 24 December 2017Saudi Arabia has approved an outbreak of highly contagious bird influenza in Riyadh which led to the culling of almost16,000 ducks, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) said on Friday. The highly pathogenic H5N8 strain infective & killed 14 birds at a non-specified location in the Saudi capital, the Paris-based OIE said in a report on its website, citing data from the Saudi authorities. The other birds in a flock of around 60,000 exposed to the virus were culled, the report said.
