Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton is running its annual Community Seasonal Flu Vaccination Clinic Oct. 17-21 for TRICARE beneficiaries with a military I.D.to get free flu shots.The clinic is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the hospital's second floor lobby next to pastoral care.

For the first time in 12 years, the Knox County Health Department won't be offering FluMist nasal vaccine at in-school clinics.This year, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention deemed the mist ineffective against influenza and told providers not to use it.So the health department's shot to save its in-school vaccination program will come from an older method: the injectable vaccine.
